What does “Integrative Medicine” really mean?

Integrative Medicine refers to the using a mixture of both conventional (allopathic) and holistic or “alternative” medicine.

The word “alternative” only means that most doctors don’t use that form of medicine, otherwise it wouldn’t be called alternative, it would be conventional.  Usually, the various forms of alternative medicine come from nature and natural products such as whole foods and supplements, herbal medicines, “hands-on” therapies such as massage, energy medicine and lymphatic drainage therapies.  Conventional medicine usually means pharmaceutical drugs that can only be used by a doctor’s prescription.

We live in natural bodies.  Our bodies are designed to be healthy by natural foods and herbs, and natural methods of detoxification.  They are not designed to be healthy by taking synthetic drugs manufactured in a laboratory.

For good health and healing from illness we must look to the gentle healing power of Nature.
