But why does cancer appear in the first place? In the lack of understanding or even a good theory, there is great mystery and mystique surrounding “why” any of us ever develop the tumors that become diagnosed as cancer.

We point fingers at many possible culprits: inherited tendencies from relatives, accumulation of toxins, poor diet and lifestyle.  While all these and more certainly contribute to the development of cancer, the scientific truth is that only a small percentage of people who are diagnosed with cancer actually have connections to any of these “explanations.”

None of these explanations is so consistent or as common-sense as this: When stresses of life become “distress” and have no likelihood of a resolution in sight, part of our built-in, natural mechanism to cope with this distress is to begin to develop tumors.

A Woman’s Breasts Are for Nurturing Her Baby

When a right-handed woman is caring for her baby and is preparing to hold the baby for nursing it, in which arm does she hold her baby?  She holds it in her left arm and will nurse from the left breast first. Her right hand, her dominant hand, is then available to comfort, care for and protect the baby while she is nursing it.

A left-handed woman is just the opposite.  When a left-handed mother is preparing to nurse her baby, she holds in her right arm and will nurse from the right breast first.  Now her dominate hand, her left hand is available to comfort and protect the baby.

Now Let’s Put These Two Concepts Together:

When a mother’s child is in some form of danger, this puts stress on the mother and her natural response is to assist, to protect or in some way to nurture her child.  When this is not possible, the stress of the danger for the child becomes distress for the mother, and she begins to grow a tumor in her breast – the organ that represents her ability to nurture and protect her child.

For a right-handed woman who nurses from the left side first, the tumor will appear on the left breast.  A left-handed woman is just the opposite. Her tumor will appear in her right breast.

In this frame of reference[1] we can be confident that when we see a right handed woman with a left sided breast tumor, it is related somehow to a highly stressful situation, or “distress” in the mother-child relationship. The opposite holds true for left-handed women.

But what about a right-handed woman, with a right-sided tumor?  Or, vice versa?  That also happens, doesn’t it?

Yes, it does. Tumors in the breast represent a physiological response to some form of distress for the woman. When the tumor and the dominant handedness are on the same side, we know that the distress is not about the offspring or a mother-child relationship. Rather is it about a relationship that is as important to the woman as a child would be, but is something other than mother-child.

Common examples are distresses over relationships; partner/spouse, business, siblings, even distress over loved pets.  Tumors appear first in these situations on the same side as the woman’s dominant hand. [2]

She has been putting a wide variety of creams, lotions and ointments on the rash but it doesn’t seem to help.  She takes several types of supplements also, none of which are improving this mystery rash.

When I saw her today she had on cotton gloves to help protect her hands.  When we took the gloves off the back of both hands were reddened and some skin was beginning to peel off as if it had been badly sunburned.

The biofeedback testing I use began to show me some results that were suggestive of some type of conflict she might have had that represents a form of “separation”, or unfinished business.  Sure enough, when I questioned her about this she suddenly exclaimed “Oh my God!  How did you know?”.

Her story is that she was in the process of having a small book published.  Apparently the publisher took her payment but then did not follow through as promised.   She remains very upset about that.  I told her that her mind is likely to find a way to put the feelings she has about this episode away somewhere, so that she does not have to face them every moment of every day.

When that happens it is very likely that some sort of “symptoms” will begin to develop.  When the issue is about unresolved business, it can be interpreted as a form of “separation”.  One would use one’s hands in making welcome gestures, or also in gesturing for “stay away from me”. 

We made a homeopathic medicine that is specifically formulated for her and this type of conflict.  The next day she called to report that for the first time in months her hands were 70% improved.

The reason her hands manifested a rash is very similar to the reasons tumors and cancer develop in many people.  Because of this similarity we refer to such manifestations as “cancer-equivalents”, meaning that it is not cancer, but the body is reacting to some form of stress in a way as if it were. 

This manifestation of an uncomfortable rash was her body’s way of protecting her from growing tumors that eventually become cancer.

Treatments for both conditions – a mysterious rash, or cancer, are also very similar.

What is the deeper significance of an illness, even one that can create so much anguish?

The Appearance of Cancer Always Has a Reason and a Cause

 We live in natural bodies. The development, growth and appearance of the tumors that become diagnosed as “cancer” is a natural process; it is not random or malicious act of Nature.  In reality, in almost all cases of cancer the real causes have very little to do with the common risk factors we all know about.

The real cause of cancer – that single, most important factor that first activates and causes cancer cells to start to grow in our bodies is actually based on the patterns of our emotional responses to many of life’s common stressors.

Everyone is familiar with many of the common risk factors that can predispose them to developing cancer.  Factors under our direct control include lifestyle choices such as smoking, excessive alcohol use, the quality and caliber of our dietary choices, and too much sunlight exposure without adequate protection.  Factors that are out of our control include toxins in the environment such as air and water pollution, and of course genetics, or a family history of cancer.

But these are almost never the bottom-line “causes” of cancer.  It is the physical reactions to stressors in our subconscious minds that triggers the biologic changes in our bodies that actually causes cancer cells to start to grow.

The Biologic Code of Cancer

            Tumors never appear randomly in the body – there are very specific reasons that cause tumors to grow where they do. The body always grows tumors in direct response to life’s stressors in specific places and for specific reasons. This is the “Biologic Code of Cancer”.

We all feel a wide range of emotions that always flow throughout the body constantly, all the time.  That flow of emotions is normally free and unrestricted.  We feel emotions every day that don’t necessarily become health problems.  The mind and body can easily cope with them.  The body tends to “hold” certain emotions in specific organs in the body.  Some examples are: love, joy and happiness are held in the heart; the love and nurturing of a mother for her husband and children are held in her bosom.

When we experience a sudden shock to our emotions that is unexpected, severe, and devastating, it is a real trauma to the emotional system and the natural flow of emotional energy becomes blocked.  Our minds interpret this blockage of energy flow as a “Biological Conflict” and our bodies begin to grow tumors in specific organs and tissues.

For example, deep-seated feelings of anger which often manifest as a locked-up ability to give and receive love reside in the liver.  Feelings of fear, abandonment and rejection are held in the kidneys.  Being unable to accept that one has been somehow betrayed is often held in the stomach and colon areas.  Issues involving stresses with family members affect the pancreas.  Virtually all the emotions we experience have a place in the body where they are centered.

Biological Conflict is a state of reaction to emotional trauma that causes our bodies to    immediately begin to grow more cells in the affected organ to help deal with the emotional trauma.

These new growths quickly become the tumors that we call “cancer”.  This is actually an effort by the mind to make that organ more capable of coping with the stress related to the trauma.  Before long the new growth can become out of control and find other places to grow.  So, the bottom-line reality is that cancer is a natural response of the body to an unnatural stress.

Cracking the Biologic Code of Cancer

Traditional medicine tells us that cancer should be treated as an invader, an enemy to be fought against and if one is really lucky, ultimately conquered.  We must go in and aggressively “fight the cancer”.  We must use treatments like chemotherapy, surgery and radiation therapy to kill and eliminate cancer cells as fast as possible.  The prevailing theory is the more we fight the cancer the better.

Nothing could be further from the truth!

When the causes of the biological conflict are identified and explained the patient can then deal with them.  The moment the biological conflict is found and released the body will no longer “need” to grow cancer cells and will immediately begin to heal itself – naturally.

The key is to reverse the effects of the emotional trauma and let the emotions start flowing again.  It’s releasing the emotion associated with the trauma that removes the cause of the cancer and allows healing to move forward.

Biofeedback is a cornerstone of developing each person’s unique treatment plan.  Here is why:

Our living bodies possess a particular form of energy that is often called the “Energy of Life”.  This energy flows in very specific patterns in our bodies throughout our entire lives.  These patterns of energy flow have been known to oriental medicine for thousands of years.  We are just beginning to be able to understand and explain them by integrating the principles of quantum physics with modern medicine.

For example, a patient came in the other day with a diagnosis of cancer.  The baseline (initial) BioScan reading was elevated at 56.  When certain homeopathic medicines were tested, the BioScan readings balanced at 50.   Also, when selected chemotherapy medications were tested the readings again balanced at 50.  Out of 30 chemotherapy medications that were tested his readings balanced with only four of them.  This is interpreted as meaning that this patient would benefit from using a combination of the selected homeopathic medicines plus the four specific chemotherapy medications.

In another example, a 45 year old woman came to see us about being treated using integrative medicine.  She had already had one round of conventional chemotherapy and was very toxic from that.  Her baseline energy reading was elevated at 56.  The energy balanced to exactly 50 when we tested our all-natural detoxifying and rejuvenating treatment called “OxyMed”, but we could not find a single chemotherapy medication that balanced her.

            When we are diagnosed with cancer, conventional medicine tells us that we need to “fight” cancer, and that we need to begin that fight right away.  But is that always the best approach?  Wouldn’t “healing” from cancer be preferable to “fighting” cancer?

Our bodies are designed by nature to live in balance and harmony with our environment and with other people around us.  When cancer develops it is a signal that something has become out of balance in some aspect of our lives.  Part of that imbalance is likely to include accumulation of toxins in our bodies, not enough of the nutritional basis we need, or some form of stress that we are carrying around and have let dominate our thinking, beliefs and emotions.

Each of the trillions of cells in our body needs to make its own energy to live and to be able to do the things it’s supposed to do for us – move our muscles, digest our foods or to make hormones just to name a few examples.  Healthy cells make abundant amounts of energy from the foods we eat.  Food becomes transformed into sugar in the blood stream   This blood sugar is converted by normal, healthy cells into energy.  This is called oxidative respiration.  This process uses oxygen from the air that we breathe.  This is a very efficient mechanism that makes lots of energy for every molecule of blood sugar.
